Job Description

Southern California Media Group (SCMG) seeks a digital content editor to cover the local (Southern California) dining, shopping, music, theater and gossip scene for SoCalPulse.com. You have hands-on experience and proven success in writing fascinating content, increasing traffic, brand visibility and growing a following through SEO and effective content strategy. Candidate must have a passion for and the ability to cover the active SoCal lifestyle with a natural eye for spotting trends. In addition to writing, the digital content editor will be responsible for overseeing and maintaining consistency across all platforms including content on both consumer and corporate sites including blogs, direct email campaigns and social media; this requires attention-to-detail, editing/writing skills, creativity as well as a high-level of technical knowledge in order to deliver fresh, informative and appealing content with the same quality and voice throughout all of the travel and performing arts media published by SCMG.

The ideal candidate will be a leader and self-starter who has a desire to grow and be inspired by the collaboration of a very creative team. This position will develop and lead a talented team of content writers and work closely with our editorial and marketing departments to help carry out the vision and goals of the company with a shared voice and common interest. Candidate must also work closely with our sales team to deliver on digital sales.
